“Isn’t art a game among all men of all era’s?” Marcel Duchamp
Christopher Bond thinks he’s at the centre of the universe. His practice deals with him coming to terms with the fact he’s not. The work seems to continuously contextualise himself as an individual in contemporary culture, there is a repetition that can appear to helplessly speculate. This results in a big anxious chat with the world in a self-fulfilling groundlessness, though despite this, his work has been described as “absolutely sexual”.
Christopher completed his degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in 2003 and gained his Masters of Arts at Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2006. His work is included in a number of collections and he has exhibited widely throughout the UK including places such as: Glasgow, Sheffield, Liverpool, Derby, Middlesex, Bristol, Bath, Southampton, Plymouth and London which is where he lives and works.
